The gap here is close to ৳19,000 — bigger than the entire price of some phones we list. That changes the calculation, and not in the way you might think.
The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G costs ৳53,999 in Bangladesh for the 8GB/128GB variant with official warranty, and ৳57,999 for 8GB/256GB. Grey market units start around ৳34,999 for 6GB/128GB. It launched locally on 1 May 2026 with a 120Hz Super AMOLED display, the Exynos 1480 chipset and IP68 protection.
| Variant | Official | Unofficial |
|---|---|---|
| 6GB + 128GB | — | ৳34,999 |
| 8GB + 128GB | ৳53,999 | ৳38,499 |
| 8GB + 256GB | ৳57,999 | ৳41,500 |
| 12GB + 256GB | ৳59,299 | ৳44,000 |
Here the storage jump is worth taking seriously, and that is a change from the cheaper Galaxy models. The A37 has no microSD slot. Whatever storage you buy on day one is what you live with for the life of the phone. ৳4,000 for the 256GB step is a fair price when the alternative is deleting photos in year three.
Samsung advertises 45W fast charging on this phone. Star Tech confirms the retail box ships with a Type-C cable only — the 45W adapter is a separate purchase. Budget another ৳2,000 to ৳3,000 for a genuine one, or you are running a 45W phone at whatever speed your old charger manages.
The second cost is the storage decision above. Together they mean the real entry price for a Galaxy A37 you will be happy with in three years is closer to ৳60,000 than the ৳53,999 on the shelf tag.
None of this makes it a bad phone. It just means the headline number is not the number.
On cheaper phones the grey market gap is two or three thousand taka and the answer is easy — pay it, take the warranty. Here it is nineteen thousand. That is not a rounding error, and pretending the choice is obvious would be dishonest.
What you get for the ৳19,000: a Samsung Bangladesh warranty valid at any authorised centre nationwide, a BTRC-registered IMEI, and a clean resale story when you sell it in three years. Buyers in Bangladesh pay noticeably more for official sets on the second-hand market, so some of that premium comes back to you.
What you give up by going grey: all of the above. Sellers like Rio and Sumash Tech offer their own replacement guarantees, but that cover lives and dies with the shop.
My honest read: at this price point the phone is expensive enough that a repair bill hurts, and IP68 does not protect you from a cracked screen. If ৳54,000 stretches you, the better move is not to buy this phone grey — it is to buy the Galaxy A17 official and keep the difference.

Most mid-range phones stop at IP54, which handles a light splash. IP68 means full dust sealing and submersion resistance. During monsoon, when you are answering a call under a shop awning with rain coming sideways, that difference is the whole point. It is one of the few premium features here that earns its place rather than filling a spec sheet.
Star Tech, Gadget & Gear, Excel eStore and Samsung showrooms carry official units with a one-year warranty. At ৳53,999 with 0% EMI over twelve months you are looking at roughly ৳4,500 a month, which is how most buyers at this level actually pay.
Grey stock is widely available online and at Bashundhara City. Given the size of the gap, take extra care here: check the IMEI with BTRC, confirm the box seal, and make sure the shop's guarantee is written on the memo rather than promised out loud.
৳53,999 official for 8GB/128GB and ৳57,999 for 8GB/256GB. Grey market units start around ৳34,999.
No. The retail box includes a Type-C cable only. The 45W adapter is sold separately.
No. There is no expandable storage, so choose your storage variant carefully.
It carries an IP68 rating, meaning full dust protection and resistance to submersion. That is not the same as a warranty against water damage.
