Samsung Galaxy A17 Price in Bangladesh

Official · 5G
৳30,999
6GB + 128GB · Samsung BD warranty
Unofficial · 4G
৳20,499
8GB + 128GB · no local warranty

Two very different phones share this name. Before you compare any price, work out whether you want the 4G or the 5G — the gap between them is over ৳10,000.

The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G costs ৳30,999 in Bangladesh for 6GB/128GB with official warranty, rising to ৳34,999 for 8GB/128GB and ৳40,199 for 8GB/256GB. The 4G version is far cheaper, starting around ৳20,499 for 8GB/128GB in the grey market. Both share the same screen and battery but use different processors.

Read that table again slowly. The 4G model with more RAM costs ten thousand taka less than the 5G model with less RAM. Storage upgrades follow the same pattern as everywhere else in Samsung's range — roughly ৳5,000 for an extra 128GB, when the phone has a dedicated microSD slot that will do the same job for a tenth of that.

The 5G badge costs ৳10,000. Is it worth it here?

This is the only question that matters on this page, and most listings ignore it entirely.

Bangladesh has 5G on paper. In practice, coverage sits in pockets of Dhaka and a handful of other cities, and the plans that use it are priced well above what most people pay for data. If you live in Sylhet or Rajshahi or anywhere outside a major metro, you will spend the next two years on 4G regardless of what your phone supports.

So the ৳10,000 buys you a network you probably cannot use yet, plus a different chip. The 5G version runs Samsung's Exynos 1330. The 4G runs MediaTek's Helio G99, which is a well-liked, well-understood processor that has been in dozens of budget phones. For everyday use — WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, a bit of Free Fire — you will not feel a difference between them.

Buy the 5G only if you live in Dhaka, plan to keep the phone four or five years, and want it to still be useful when coverage finally spreads. Otherwise take the 4G, put the saved ৳10,000 aside, and upgrade sooner.

Official vs unofficial

The 5G gap runs about ৳5,000. That is enough to make people hesitate, and it should.

Official sets carry a one-year Samsung Bangladesh warranty you can claim at any authorised service centre, and the IMEI is registered with BTRC. Grey imports skip both. Some shops offer their own replacement guarantee instead — Rio and Dazzle both advertise multi-year service cover on unofficial units — which is better than nothing but depends entirely on that shop still existing when you need it.

What tips it for me on this particular phone: the A17's headline feature is six years of software updates. If you actually plan to keep it six years, you want a warranty path that lasts more than one of them.

Gorilla Glass Victus at this price is unusual

Most phones under ৳30,000 ship with older Gorilla Glass or no named protection at all. Victus is the tier Samsung used on flagships a few generations back. It will not survive a fall onto a Dhaka footpath, but it resists the pocket-and-keys scratching that makes a two-year-old screen look tired.

Where to buy in Bangladesh

Star Tech, Gadget & Gear, Pickaboo and Samsung's own showrooms stock official units. Most run 0% EMI on bank cards, which puts the 5G base model near ৳2,600 a month across twelve months.

Unofficial stock is easy to find at Bashundhara City and through online sellers like Rio and Sumash Tech. If you go that route, check the IMEI against BTRC before you hand over money, and get the shop's guarantee in writing on the memo.
