Fair prices for a phone released in January 2025. The problem is not the price — it is what sits ৳2,000 above it on the same shelf.

The Redmi Note 14 costs ৳25,999 in Bangladesh for the 6GB/128GB variant with official warranty, and ৳28,999 for 8GB/256GB. Grey market units run ৳20,500 to ৳21,500 and ৳23,500 to ৳25,000 respectively. It uses the Helio G99 Ultra, a 108MP main camera without stabilisation, and a 5500mAh battery.

Price by variant

VariantOfficialUnofficial
6GB + 128GB৳25,999৳20,500 – 21,500
8GB + 256GB৳28,999৳23,500 – 25,000

The 8/256 costs ৳3,000 more and doubles both figures, which reads like good value until you notice the phone takes a microSD card. A 128GB card costs a fraction of ৳3,000. The extra RAM is the only part you cannot add later, and 6GB is enough for how most people use a phone in this bracket.

The problem with buying this phone in 2026

The Redmi Note 14 launched in January 2025. It is a good phone. It is also ৳2,000 away from its own replacement, and that changes everything.

The Redmi Note 15 sells at ৳27,999 for its 6/128 variant. For those two thousand taka you get a brighter screen — 3200 nits peak against 1800 — a bigger 6000mAh battery, and, most importantly, optical image stabilisation on the main camera. The Note 14 has none. Its 108MP sensor is the same size and resolution but stabilises in software only.

OIS is not a spec-sheet nicety. It is the difference between a usable photo in a dim restaurant and a smeared one, and between steady video and video that lurches with every step. Two thousand taka is a low price for that.

So the honest position: at ৳25,999 this is a hard phone to recommend over its successor. It becomes interesting at grey market prices, and it becomes genuinely interesting if you want something the Note 15 no longer offers.

What the Note 14 has that the Note 15 does not

A headphone jack. That is not a small thing for a lot of people in Bangladesh.

Wired earphones cost a few hundred taka, never need charging, never go missing one at a time, and never die halfway through a bus ride. If you have a pair you like, or if you buy cheap replacements regularly rather than committing to expensive wireless buds, the 3.5mm port on this phone is a real reason to choose it. Xiaomi dropped the jack on the Note 15 series entirely.

It also has a dedicated dual-SIM tray. The Note 15 5G uses a hybrid slot, so you choose between a second SIM and a memory card. Here you get both SIMs, though the microSD does share a slot on some variants — check the tray before you buy if this matters to you.

Official vs unofficial

The gap runs ৳4,500 to ৳5,500 depending on variant, which is wide for a phone at this price. On the 6/128 you are looking at a grey unit for around ৳20,500 against ৳25,999 official — more than a fifth off.

That is enough to be a real decision. Xiaomi Bangladesh runs authorised service centres in Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and several district towns, so the warranty is practical rather than theoretical. But at a ৳5,000 saving, a careful owner with a case might reasonably self-insure.

Here is the thing though: if you are willing to spend ৳25,999, spend ৳27,999 and get the newer phone. If ৳20,500 is your budget, the grey Note 14 is a lot of phone for the money and the argument makes sense. What is hard to defend is the middle — paying near-official prices for last year's hardware.

Video tops out at 1080p, and that is unusual

Most phones at ৳26,000 record 4K, even if the results are only adequate. This one does not offer it at all — 1080p at 30 or 60fps is the ceiling. For social media clips that is perfectly fine, since Facebook and TikTok compress everything anyway. But if you shoot video you intend to keep, edit, or watch on a television later, this is a hard limit you cannot work around. The Note 14 Pro has the same restriction despite its far better camera hardware, which makes it the odd omission across this whole generation.

Where to buy in Bangladesh

Xiaomi showrooms, Star Tech, Gadget & Gear and Pickaboo carry official units with a one-year warranty. Stock on a phone this age thins out, so call ahead rather than travelling to a showroom on spec.

Grey units are plentiful at Bashundhara City and through online sellers, and the wide price range in the table above means negotiating is worth your time. Verify the IMEI against BTRC before paying.
